Internal Medicine/Geriatric NP 

Responsibilities:  

• Evaluate and treat adult and geriatric patients for acute, routine, well, and follow-up care. 
• Specialize in the management of chronic diseases including diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, high cholesterol, and obesity. 
• Diagnose and treat acute illness. 
• Treat minor injuries. 
• Physical examinations and immunizations. 
• Gynecological care. 
• Geriatric medicine. 
• Cardiac screenings. 
• Specialist and community resource referrals. 
• Educate patients on prevention and management of disease. 

Schedule:  

• 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, with shared weekend and holiday on-call shifts with other providers. 
• No hospital rounds expected. 

Qualifications:  

• Must be Bilingual: English and Spanish. 
• Possess and maintain certification as a Family or Medical/Surgical NP accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). 
• Ideally, will possess a minimum of two (2) years of experience within the last three (3) years as an NP in an internal, family and/or geriatric medical setting. 
• Excellent interpersonal skills.  
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.  
• Ideally licensed in VA and have an active DEA.
